Apostle Paul, when he writes to the Romans in connection with his apostolic Mission to the Gentiles world, he challenged them by saying “ How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? (Rom. 10: 14-15)
St. Thomas apostle of Jesus came to India, obeying our Lords Command, preached the Gospel and established the Church in India. Countless Missionaries traveled far and wide and laid down their lives, so that people may hear the Gospel and be saved. Even, we, the St. Andrew’s Congregation, are the fruit of such labour of Missionaries.
There are still many in our country who have not heard or experienced the love and the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who will go and tell the Good news to them? It is the responsibility of the Church to day, to go into the unreached areas of our land. As the members of St. Andrew’s Church, shall we make an effort to obey the call of our Lord, by involving ourselves in the Mission and Evangelism work? And hence this Project. “ The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matthew 9:37,38). |
